The radiation oncology physicians at Community Medical Center are all Board Certified and dedicated to providing the highest quality care in a compassionate setting.
Dr. Coia is Senior Advisor to the J. Phillip Citta Regional Cancer Center at Community Medical Center. He is also a practicing member of East Coast Radiation Oncology Associates, PA.
A board certified radiation oncologist, Dr. Coia is a highly respected practitioner, published author and international lecturer. He has received both local and national recognition form his peers as a leader in the fight against cancer, and national media attention for his work in cancer diagnosis and treatment.
Dr. Coia has been named multiple times to both New Jersey Monthly and Philadelphia Magazine’s list of “Top Docs.” He also has been in the American Health Magazine’s list of “Best Doctors in America” and Woodward and White’s “The Best Doctor’s in America.” Dr. Coia has also received the honor of becoming a Fellow of the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology as part of the Inaugural Class of Fellows in 2006.
Dr. Coia is currently a clinical Associate Professor at Philadelphia’s University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Formerly he was Vice Chairman and Senior Member in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the Fox Chase Cancer Center. He also has been a Visiting Professor in China, Japan, Canada and throughout the United States and Europe. Nominated by New Jersey’s Governor Whitman, Dr. Coia served on the New Jersey State Commission on Cancer Research for four years.
Dr. Coia holds a Bachelor’s degree in physics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, a Master’s degree in Physics from Bryn Mawr College, and his Medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine.
Dr. Coia is the author of hundreds of articles and several books on a variety of issues concerning cancer.
